Does merino wool smell after sweating?
No — merino wool naturally resists odor. The fiber binds odor-causing bacteria and releases them in the wash, so you can wear a Wülf Wool shirt for multiple days of activity between washes. Many merino wearers go 3–5 wears before washing, even after sweating.
Is 140 GSM merino too hot for summer?
No — 140 GSM is an ultralight fabric weight, at the lightest end of merino jerseys (most merino shirts run 150–200 GSM). The 17.5-micron superfine fibers wick moisture and regulate temperature, so it wears cooler than cotton in the heat. It's built specifically for warm-weather hiking, trail running, and mountain biking.
How often do I need to wash it?
Far less than a synthetic or cotton shirt. Because merino resists odor and wicks moisture, airing the shirt out overnight is usually enough between wears. Wash it when it's visibly dirty — typically every 3–5 wears rather than after every use.
How do I wash merino wool?
Machine wash cold on gentle with mild detergent, then lay flat to dry. Avoid fabric softener, bleach, and high-heat drying, which damage the fiber. Drying on low heat or until damp works when necessary, but isn't recommended regularly.
Is this 100% merino wool or a blend?
100% superfine merino wool — 17.5-micron fiber, no synthetic core or polyester blend. The natural 4-way stretch comes from the knit, not elastane.
How does it fit?
Athletic fit with fitted sleeves and a lengthened torso with a drop hem, cut to stay put during movement. It fits true to size. If you're between sizes, size up.
